ABOUT

WILD THING is a contemporary yoga studio situated in the heart of Sea Point, Cape Town founded by Lexi Ryman and Dominique Vieira. The Sanskrit translation of Wild Thing or Camatkarasana means ‘the ecstatic unfolding of the enraptured heart’ and that is exactly what this yoga studio is for us. A love for yoga is where this all started and Wild Thing is that love in a tangible form.


WILD THING offers a variation of Vinyasa based yoga and body conditioning classes running from early morning through to the early evening throughout the week. Our classes will cater for all levels and aspiring Yogis...


.. And we want to make sure that your yoga practice with us is as wonderful as you are. We offer strong, heated and non-heated Vinyasa Flow, classes set to music that makes you want to move. Our infrared heating is as good for your body as it is Eco-Friendly. Our classes are smaller, more personal and we love it that way because it means we can give you all the attention you deserve. At Wild Thing our focus is on alignment, intelligent sequencing and building your strength up from wherever you are in your practice. Flow / Vinyasa

A 60 minute flow yoga class set to the kind of music that makes you want to move. We work with a series of carefully sequenced postures informed by the Vinyasa style of yoga and led by the breath. Your breath creates your flow. Move on the breath in, move on the breath out. Yoga is for everybody and every body. All bodies are welcome.

Warm Flow / Heated Vinyasa

A 60 minute flow yoga class set to the kind of music that makes you want to move. We use an infrared heating system to heat the room. Infrared heating is highly beneficial for the body and is the safest, most progressive way to practice heated yoga. It has a multitude of benefits including encouragement of cellular regeneration as well as anxiety and stress management. This class is Vinyasa based and led by the breath. It is a dynamic class but you set your own pace. Move on the breath in, move on the breath out.Yoga is for everybody and every body. All bodies are welcome.

Fit Flow / Sculpt

A 60 minute flow yoga class set to the kind of music that makes you want to move, with one small difference… we add some light weights to your warriors. The way that yoga is practiced is changing and so the way that we train our bodies to practice it needs to follow suit. This class will challenge you and help you build strength to support your regular practice, whether you are a beginner or have an advanced practice. Yoga is for everybody and every body. All bodies are welcome.

Deep Stretch / Restorative Yin

A 60 minute, restorative yoga class that will take you deeper into your stretches and your practice. We work with a series of carefully sequenced postures informed by the Yin practice and inspired by the breath. This class is slower, deeper and completely restorative. Yoga is for everybody and every body. All bodies are welcome.

Slow Flow / Prop Vinyasa

A slower, 60 minute flow yoga class that focuses on alignment as well as breath and movement. This class is Vinyasa based and created to show you how to use props in order to deepen your practice whether you’re just starting out or have an advanced practice. Yoga is for everybody and every body. All bodies are welcome.

Community Flow / Vinyasa

A 60 minute, flow yoga class set to the kind of music that makes you want to move. We are breaking down the barriers to entry for yoga and one of them is finances. Pay what you can and come and move - all proceeds go to Earth Child Project. This class is Vinyasa based and led by the breath. Your breath creates your flow. Move on the breath in, move on the breath out. Yoga is for everybody and every body. All bodies are welcome.

Whats happening today



Everything you need to know before you yoga...

Yay. We’re excited you want to try out our little Wild Thing studio and we can’t wait to meet you. Whether you are brand new to yoga or whether you find yourself bound up in Eagle in your sleep, we want you to enjoy our studio space as much as we do.

What time to arrive

The studio will be ready for you 30 minutes before the class starts. Please make sure that you aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the class is scheduled to start. We value your time and our classes start promptly on time.

Facilities

As much as we love yoga pants, we also acknowledge that sadly, in this life, they are not always deemed appropriate attire. We have beautiful shower and change-room facilities available for your use. We also have lockers where you can store your valuables, baggage and problems.

Mats and towels

Whether or not you have your own yoga mat we have mats available for rent. If you’re someone who gets a good sweat on just thinking about exercise we also have non-slip yoga towels available for you to rent. If you want to take things to the next level and put a ring on it you can buy both mats and the towels from us too.

Time to get your yoga on

If it’s your first time and you’re worried about what to wear - active-wear is what you’re going for. Make sure it’s something you’re comfortable in and something that you can move in. When you arrive (15 minutes before your class) sign-in at the front desk, wink at your yoga teacher, grab a water and head through to the change room. Leave your shoes, socks, cell phone and worries behind in the change room and head on into the studio to get your zen on.
